E030/2025/EXB Citizen security and crime investigation

The aim of this activity is to describe the patrolling systems used in Spain and Portugal and to raise awareness among patrolling police officers about the importance of the information they gather during their daily activities for crime investigation units. It also seeks to improve and strengthen the proper sharing of this valuable information through the use of intelligence protocols.

By the end of this Exchange-bite, the audience will be able to:

• Acquire a general understanding of the patrolling systems used in Spain and Portugal;
• Recognise the value of the information collected by patrolling officers;
• Understand the importance of protocols for effective information sharing;
• Raise awareness of the need to provide patrol officers with feedback on investigation outcomes.
