Online Course 2004/2023/ONL: Prevention of Dissemination of Terrorist and Extremist Content Online

The aim of the activity is to mitigate the risk of the use of the internet for the spread of violent extremist and terrorism-related propaganda by improving the preparedness of law enforcement officials to identify and combat the dissemination of terrorist and extremist content online.
After completing this training activity, the participant will be able to:
- Conduct proactive and reactive online and OSINT investigations by:
- Developing a strategy to identify and deal with online terrorist and violent extremist content;
- Flagging terrorist and violent extremist content online;
- Conducting an online investigation collecting e-evidence for the case file;
- Removing violent extremist and terrorist propaganda from the internet;
- Apply the principles of Data Protection and respect of Fundamental Rights in the context of this type of investigations.
The course will be held entirely in English, therefore it is essential that nominated officials possess appropriate language skills (at least B2 level). The entire activity will be carried out online hence the physical presence of participants will not be required.

Selected participants have to be registered to CEPOL's Law Enforcement Education platform LEEd where the online activity will take the place.
