The aim of the activity is to improve the operational law enforcement cooperation and information exchange between national competent authorities, such as border guards, the police, customs authorities, migration authorities and, in particular, the SIRENE (Supplementary Information Request at the National Entries) Bureaux and the Member States' SPOC in their efforts in maintaining a high level of security within the area of freedom, security and justice of the Union.

Upon completion of this training activity, participants will be able to:

  • Define the main elements of all SIS alert categories in accordance with SIS Regulations;
  • Describe the main procedures for the exchange of supplementary information;
  • Apply the provisions of the SIS Regulations, SIRENE Manuals and SIRENE Handbook;
  • Select the appropriate SIRENE forms and complete them in the correct way, following the instructions and in line with DEBS;
  • Use the training materials related to SIS and SIRENE available on CEPOL’s Law Enforcement Education Platform (LEEd) in their daily work;
  • Discover the specificities of the national procedures at the level of each MS;
  • Identify methods of cooperating more efficiently and effectively.

Learning Format

  • Self-paced learning accessible via LEEd.
  • Course materials include mandatory readings and pre-recorded sessions.
  • A short quiz (2–3 questions) follows each session to unlock the next one.
  • Final assessment (quiz) is required for the Certificate of Completion.

In case you are interested to attend, please contact your local CEPOL National Unit / CEPOL National Contact Point as soon as possible. Deadline for nominations by CEPOL National Units: 1 September 2025. 

Selected participants have to be registered to CEPOL's Law Enforcement Education platform LEEd where the online activity will take the place.
