The aim of the training activity is to enhance cyber-investigations by providing knowledge and skills to use and exchange of electronic evidence in investigation and prosecution of cybercrime analysing the relevancy and admissibility of such evidence.

The training is carried out in cooperation with the European Judicial Training Network (EJTN)Arrow icon.

The learning process highlights a learner-centred approach and will consist of:

  • Independent Learning: reviewing case studies, watching webinars, listening short videos, studying reading material (15 hours);
  • Contact Learning via online forums: forum discussion with other participants, exchange of good practices (3 hours);
  • Experiential Learning: practical exercises that need to be analysed by participants (2 hours).

The course will be delivered online over a period of 2 weeks, between 12 - 23 April 2021. Participants are expected to study around 2 hours per working day during this period in order to be able to complete the activity (in total 20 training hours). While there is no specific time slot when participants shall be available for completing the course tasks, they should follow the course continuously on a daily basis. This is important as the attendants will need to cooperate with other participants virtually and complete small tasks/assignments then share the results of these tasks between each other and debate them collectively.

The course will be held entirely in English, therefore it is essential that nominated officials possess appropriate language skills (at least B2 level). The entire activity will be carried out online on CEPOL’s Law Enforcement Education PlatformArrow icon (LEEd), hence the physical presence of participants will not be required.
