CEPOL Research and Science Conference Call for Interest

CEPOL calls on the Agency's Framework Partners, EU Member States training institutes and universities to express their interest to host CEPOL’s European Research and Science Conference 2024.

About the conference

Since 2003, the CEPOL’s European Research & Science Conferences provides a stimulating intellectual environment that brings together ideas and perspectives of practitioners, trainers and educators in policing and other areas of law enforcement, with researchers and academic scholars from Europe and the international sphere. Read more about the CEPOL’s European Research and Science Conference series here.

The CEPOL’s European Research and Science Conference 2024 is expected to take place during the last quarter of 2024* over two-and-a-half days. Up to 300 participants are expected to take part in the event, with a large contingent of researchers, academics, law enforcement and judicial practitioners, policymakers, and experts from different fields.

* Tentative dates: 16-18 October 2024 or 20-22 November 2024

Information for potential hosts

The responsibilities of the local host involve providing a venue with conference rooms in line with the Conference Hosting Requirements described in this call, coordinating social events and being the local contact to coordinate the implementation of the program.

Proposal process

CEPOL Framework Partners, training institutes and universities from EU Member States interested in hosting the conference should contact CEPOL at their earliest convenience through its conference secretariat (research.inquiries@cepol.europa.eu) to indicate their willingness to host the conference. For that purpose, a formal application to host the conference needs to be submitted to CEPOL, including:

  • A description of the proposed conference venue, including answering all the listed requirements;
  • A description of the local team acting as local representative;
  • Travel information and indicative hotel prices in different categories;
  • Proposed social events that could be organised.

The deadline to submit applications has been extended to Friday 22 December 2023 (13:00 CET).

The conference host will be selected by CEPOL from all applications received, having the opportunity to briefly present the venue during the following CEPOL’s Research and Science correspondents’ meeting taking place in Budapest.
